When the owner tries to lock the car the mechanism fails because the passenger door handle is jammed which gives the thief the ability to enter the car through the unlocked door. This will push the top of the door inward. The thief jams a coin into the door handle on the car s passenger side. Now wiggle the key up and down not side to side to work it out of the lock.

This is for when the door lock button is stuck in as this is often the most common type of door button sticking. To fix this you need to move the bottom of the opposite side the hinge side out in the same direction as the door is sticking out. Spray a quick spurt of spray lubricant into the key hole just above the key while you jiggle the lock with the other hand. The door latch is not extended before rotating the knob.

More often than not this is all you need to do to free the key. More force is needed to turn the knob and unstick the latch. Then they wait for the car owner to show up and follow the owner home. Take note of the type of resistance.

The latch will not retract even when the knob is turned. If you see a coin in your car door handle run and call the police. If you miss it in the morning and drive away nothing really happens. Hold the application straw right above your stuck key aiming it into the hole.
