When the time comes to reconnect your garage door simply pull the emergency release cord back toward the door to re engage the spring lever.
Reconnect garage door emergency release.
If the opener doesn t automatically reconnect pull the emergency release cord.
Manually move the garage door and return to down position.
This allows you to manually open and close the garage door.
Make sure the garage door is closed.
You can then manually move the door to the opener carriage or use the doors remote and it will connect automatically.
The reconnection should be automatic but this isn t always the case.
Once the power is restored you have to reconnect the opener to the door.
Some units will actually reconnect themselves but this is not typically the case.
The emergency release cord disconnects the trolley through attachment point from the opener carriage so that the door can slide along the track without the automated carriage.
Press the garage door opener button if there are separate open and close buttons press the close button.
You need to check the release handle and make sure that it is on the track.
The next step is to go to the inside of the garage door.
Tie a single overhand knot in the cord about an inch from the end.
3 feed the other end of the cord through the emergency release lever on the door opener.
If simply hitting the button does not work you will have to take more action.
You will hear a loud click when the trolley attaches back to the carriage.
The first thing to do is hit the door button.
Reattaching the door when power returns.
Pull the end through until the handle is.
During a power outage you can manually open and close your garage door the release cord usually red on the garage door arm opens the trolley for you to disengage the g arage door from the opener.
