Remove Front Door Handle No Screws

Slide the cosmetic faceplate away from the door.

To start with removing a door handleset take a look at your set up. Look for a recessed slot in the shaft of the handle. Next find a small slot on the edge of the trim piece. There should be a small latch near the base of the knob or handle probably on the exterior side of the door.

Tug on the knob and it will slide right off. You rightfully infer it will be easy enough simply take out a few screws and take the knob right off. If you look along the edge of that plate cover right up against the door you should notice a little notch. Remove door knob without screws suddenly you are left with the task of removing your doorknob.

Remove a recessed screw. Depending on the door handle design the faceplate may be able to slide completely off. If your door has no visible screws check the neck of the knob. Push the tip of a narrow screwdriver into the hole.

Straighten a paper clip and insert it into the hole. Push this latch in and pull the handle off the door. If you don t see a screw head inside the slot. Depress a button with a paperclip or thin tool if there s no screw.

Unfortunately with a plethora of doorknobs available on the market you may not even know what kind you have. Insert the tip of a screwdriver and pry off the trim piece. Once triggered the lever or lock trim can be removed from the door. Look for a thin slot or a recessed hex head setscrew on the lock side of the doorknob.

You should see a tiny slot or hole. If not rotate the faceplate until the underlying screws are accessible and use a phillips head screwdriver to remove them. Diy remove replace door s handle with hidden screws. You will notice that the screws for the interior knob are most likely hidden beneath the plate cover.

Apply a bit of pressure to the paper clip to trigger a release button inside the hardware. If the knob has a recessed setscrew turn the setscrew counterclockwise with a correctly sized. If any screws are exposed during this process remove them to release the lock and remove it from the door.
