Remove the vertical plastic strips at the edge of the screen or glass panel by prying them off with your fingers.
Remove screen sliding door.
You ll see inner screws at the bottom of either side of the screen.
At the top of the frame you should see your top wheels simply sitting there exposed and most likely preventing the door from coming loose.
Turn these screws counterclockwise to loosen the wheels and lower the door.
You can use the same wire brush in step 2 to remove debris and dirt buildup from the sliding screen door s track.
To remove this type start by loosening the tension on the wheels a bit.
That s the length you get in most pre cut rolls from the hardware store.
In order to remove the door screen it must come off of the rollers.
Sweep the loose dirt from the track with a broom.
This will raise the wheels in the base of the door frame making the door sink into the track.
Remove the door from the track first things first.
Use a plastic putty knife to pry the strips off if necessary.
Step 3 pry the bottom horizontal strip off of the screen or glass panel.
Your door should have two adjustment screws near each bottom corner of the frame.
To remove the screen door use a flathead screwdriver.
To remove a sliding screen door find the screws at the bottom corners and unscrew them with a screwdriver.
These screws control the tension on the wheels that allow the door to roll in its track.
Some screen doors are taller though so you may need to get the material cut off the 100 foot roll.
Our track was chalked full of gunk and the wire brush cut right through it.
If your sliding glass doors don t have the screen door then you may move on to the next step.
Then use your screwdriver to unscrew the head stop located at the top of the door frame.
When you are trying to remove your screen door to make repairs simply loosen the bottom corner screws first.
Repeat on the other side.
You need at least 84 inches of cloth to repair the average sliding screen door with a height between 76 and 81 inches.
Putting the sliding screen door back in place step 4.
Start with the removal of the screen door.
Then working one end of the door.
Pull the door up until you can see the bottom wheels on either side.
