After removing the screw you have to gently wiggle something in between the handle and backing. Do i have to remove the whole door skin to remove the handle. Pull the panel off of the door and then reach around the rear to disconnect the door handle cable purple arrow. The door handle switch is plugged in to a connector located near the door lock mechanism yellow arrow. After some tense moments the whole piece snaps right off. These things can be had for cheap on ebay and if they do fit do away with the cheap lid pockets on our cars as well as the fiddly plastic trim bits.

The drivers side handle also has a cool light that shines on the ignition when you open. The door trim slots into the top of the door so when the trim is free gently pull it away from the door at the bottom and slide it up to free it from the door.
