Power Door Lock Relay Clicking

The power door lock does not work.

Open the hood if it is not already open. Do they not unlock and lock or just not lock. If the power door lock relay fails it will cut off power to the entire power door lock. Find the door lock relay.

Remove the old door lock relay. Locate the relay next to the cluster of different relays and solenoids. Try using the passenger door switch and see if they function correctly. If the power door lock relay fails it will cut off power to the entire power door lock system and may cause them to not function correctly.

The doors both lock using the key. For vehicles equipped with door lock cylinders the door can still be opened using the key. Where i would start if the switch makes the relay click in both directions then the switch is functioning. The power mirrors also do not work.

Power door locks that do not function are another common symptom for a problem with the door lock relay. Direct battery power through the pwr acc circuit breaker c b supplies the unlocking and locking power to the motors in the doors since the relays are clicking you can be pretty sure the ground and power circuits for the first circuit are working just fine. Are you hearing the relay click or the actuator move and it s just not moving the linkage. Using a pair of needle nose pliers pull out the old relay.

Power door locks that do not function are another common symptom for a problem with the door lock relay. The ctsy lid fuse makes the relay click energizes the coil. Get the new relay out of its package.
